Artist Statement

Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder: a frequent statement that is commonly used by many people. Yet, the majority of those people, especially woman, are infatuated with their outer appearances. Whether or not I fall into that category, I do not know myself. However, it has become a social self-reality, and I have come to accept it. Additionally, it is also the birth of my art interest. My art reflects on what I do best, and that is being a makeup artist.

Makeup is magic.

I found myself inspired by exotic, whimsical makeup, high fashion, fantasy, and color combinations. Just walking down the streets of NYC in soho and the west village, I would constantly find people’s selections of mix and match an inspiration for their makeup options.

Nothing is more beautiful than natural beauty.

A person's face is like a canvas, in which the makeup is the paint that will give it a story.
As an artist, I cannot be at many places at once, I cannot travel great distances to teach girls how to apply makeup, but through media outlets such as making YouTube tutorial videos, I can share my knowledge and skill with the rest of the people, anywhere and everywhere.

  2. Makeup on a person, if done well, is just as beautiful as seeing the person completely natural and non-made up. How one presents him or herself, whether through apparel or makeup, is a direct expression of who they are. Many believe that women wear makeup because they are self-conscious. Perhaps some do. But I know many women and girls just wear makeup for the fun of it--to accentuate their features, and to express their artistic ability. As you suggest, makeup application is a unique way to communicate one's artistic expression.

  3. If I was a girl I would be your best girl friend. I do got to say that girls are pretty naturally and all that but with make up its like a boost to the beauty. So if a girl is very pretty naturally with make up she would be even prettier.

  4. i am strong believe in natural beauty, as anything else put on, is for the sole purporse of expressing one's self, which is great! beautiful thing about make up is that it can be exaggrated or hardly noticable, and yet it will express to the fullest.
